About Fujitsu
Fujitsu is a Japanese multinational information technology equipment and services company based in Tokyo, Japan. As of 2018, Fujitsu was the fourth-largest IT services provider measured by global IT services revenue. The company makes mostly computing products, though Fujitsu and its subsidiaries also offer a diverse range of products and services relating to personal computing, enterprise computing, storage products, telecommunications, advanced microelectronics, and

Fujitsu began in 1935 as Fuji Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturing, a branch of Fuji Electric Company. Fujitsu developed the first Japanese computer in 1954 and soon released a second generation in 1961. In 1967, the company changed its name to Fujitsu, a contraction of its former name. In 1971, Fujitsu began distributing Consolidated Computers Limited’s (CCL) Key Edit product. At this time, Fujitsu also joined ICL and CCL’s direct marketing staff. In the 1990’s, Fujitsu obtained 80% of ICL’s shares and those of other companies, released the world’s fastest mainframe computers at the time, and introduced the world’s first 21 inch full color plasma display. During these years, Fujitsu also opened up a joint venture with AMD to create flash memory. Up until the 2000’s, Fujitsu continued acquiring shares of businesses, starting new ventures, and growing their product portfolio. Up until the present, Fujitsu has undergone restructuring, foreign expansion with acquisitions, and continued successful development of products.
